Translators who can be trusted with a certificate.
Translators who can be trusted with a certificate.
We keep a small bench and we keep it busy. If you're working into your own language and qualified in a field, we'd like to see your work.
CHAPTER 02
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
Four things, and none of them are negotiable.
Working into your own language
Idiom and register are the first things to go when someone is translating out of their own language rather than into it.
A field of your own
General translators are generalists for a reason. We assign work to people who know the terminology, the tone and the audience cold.
Evidence of skill
We want to see examples of your work, certified translations, published material, client projects. Something that shows you've done this before and done it well.
Availability to turn work around
We brief jobs clearly and we expect them back on time. If you can't commit to deadlines, we can't commit to sending you work.
CHAPTER 03
HOW WE WORK WITH YOU
Briefed properly. Paid properly.
Most of what goes wrong between an agency and a translator is avoidable. These are the three we deal with up front.
Paid per page or per word
Certified work is paid per page. Standard work is paid per word. Rates are agreed before you accept a job, never after.
A real brief
You get the source document, the purpose, the audience and the deadline. Guessing at context is how errors happen.
Reviewed before it goes live
Every translation is proofread by a second translator. If something's unclear in your work, we'll ask before we deliver it. You don't take the blame for a process failure.
CHAPTER 04
APPLY
Send us your application.
Tell us your language pair, your field, and attach two examples of your work. If it's a fit, we'll follow up within three business days.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
We read every application. If your pair and your field match a gap we will send you a translation test. If there is no gap right now we keep your details on file and come back to you when there is.
